Arena Resources, Inc. Announces Senior Management Appointment

Tulsa, Oklahoma — February 1, 2007 — Arena Resources, Inc. (AMEX: ARD) ("Arena" or the "Company") announced effective today, February 1, 2007, that Mr. Phil Terry has been appointed to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Mr. Terry received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1970 and is a registered Professional Petroleum Engineer with over 36 years of oil and gas experience in engineering, production, drilling, completions, reservoir engineering, property evaluations and corporate management in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming and Kansas. Since April, 2003, he has been in charge of all engineering and field operations for Arena.

The Company also announced the addition of Mr. Bill Parsons as Vice President and Manager of Investor Relations. Mr. Parsons has worked within the securities industry for the past 25 years. Since 1992, he has served as President of K M Financial, Inc., a Scottsdale, Arizona based company which offers consulting and marketing assistance to young public companies, including Arena.

Mr. Tim Rochford, CEO of Arena stated, "We are very pleased that Phil Terry has accepted the position of President of Arena Resources, Inc.
